The Facilities Management Department is responsible for telecommunications maintenance, which includes, voice messaging, installation and repairs of campus phones, and the purchase of cell phones. Contact Aileen Kennedy at ext. 7589 or by email, aileenk@maine.edu, with any questions or problems regarding campus phones and audix messaging.
Campus Switchboard: On campus, dial 0 or 7000, off campus, dial 778-7000. Audix To access voice mail on campus, dial 7310, off campus dial 778-7310, and follow prompts. Instructions for audix maybe accessed by clicking on audix. On-Campus Calls: Simply dial the four digit number listed. Local Calls: Dial 9, then all seven digits. To determine if a number is within the local dialing area, check the Verizon phone book under Farmington. Local dialing areas covered by the Farmington exchange are: Farmington, Farmington Falls, New Sharon, West Farmington, Wilton, Strong and Weld. Toll calls (in state and out of state) with Authorization Code: Dial 9, then dial the desired number. When prompted, enter your seven-digit authorization code. International Calls Direct Dialed: Dial 9, then dial: 011 + country code + city code + telephone number, when prompted enter your seven-digit authorization code. Calling Card Calls: Dial 9, then the 800 number on the back of your calling card and follow the automated instructions. Toll Free Numbers: Dial 9 + 1+ toll free area code (800, 855, 866, 877, 888) + seven digit number. Calling the University from Off-Campus: Dial 778, followed by the four digit extension number. Whenever possible, directly dial the extension you wish to reach. The campus switchboard number is 778-7000, and is staffed 7:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m. during the school year. During the summer and semester breaks, the campus switchboard hours are 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Note: All personal toll calls should be charged to the caller's home phone number.
